The book is not designed to replace the textbook, rather it is designed to be a quick reference companion guide full of "real world" information useful to the practitioner caring for geriatric clients. For the most part, the book presents information that the nurse should know, but does not need to memorize. It is used as a tool to quickly reference guidelines, assessment information, charts, and resources available to the geriatric nurse and client. It is not designed to present theory or extensive rationale. The book presents a wide variety of information on subjects useful to the geriatric clinician in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluation client care.
