I read this for research while responding to the work of an abled artist who appropriated photographs of young women with scoliosis from working in textile mills during the Industrial Revolution. I wanted an "own voices" perspective on disabilities experienced by child laborers during that time. As a disabled person myself, I place little value in abled voices on these matters.

Keep in mind this is not a disability pride book.
