With each step forward, Dalton knows he must get the killer before the killer gets him.

Michael Dalton leaves his job in Chicago to move to Islamorada in the Florida Keys. He tries to solve a murder but is suspended after his first day at work by someone stirring up his past. He clears himself of that only to run into snags while the murders keep piling up. Dalton finds out who the real killers are with help from his unregistered hundred sixty pound pet cougar named Cupcake that he rescued from being euthanized. The plot is complicated and makes for a good read.
What a GREAT read. Loved the characters, the trio cops Dalton , Chase and Diaz worked so well together!! Hope none are killed off. That Dalton charcter is a top Notch cop. I like the way he solves cases. The story read like I was watching a TV show. Good ending too, wrapped up really nice. Adding this author to my favorite's list.
