Elanvanin has returned...The Keep has fallen. Yet, hope remains.
Karn Elohite holds the key within his hand to defeating Elanvanin once and for all. If...he can unlock it.
Unfortunately, the elusive Cult of Bahs has emerged from their hidden encampment deep within the Arcadian woods. These powerful wolf-shifter magicians are destined to unite with Elanvanin's priestess, creating a force near unstoppable, but within their camp, is an unexpected ally.
Born far from Ki-leyha, the kingdom of Fae, Alurea has lived her life in a cage -- a prisoner of the Cult of Bahs, but if she can find her freedom, she might be able to create a bridge between Sola and Karn, if Dierdriel agrees to go home...
Will Karn find the answers he's looking for? Can anyone stop the evil sweeping across Arcadia? Or will Elanvanin's priestess have her revenge?
Caged is a story set in a world as dangerous as George R.R. Martin's Westeros, and as magical as J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth. Not since the dawning of Anne McCaffrey's Dragonflight, has a saga hatched from the world of dragons like The Clans of Arcadia. Do you dare to walk within?
Fans of A Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, and Dragonflight will love Caged!
Caged is the third book in The Clans of Arcadia series.
Arwen Chandler is a mother, a wife, and a crazy cat lady. She spends most of her days writing in her office surrounded by stacks of books, an antique Underwood typewriter, crystal globes filled with raven and dragon figurines, and a statue of Groot. Often her only office companion is a seventeen-pound black cat, named Solomon, who she lovingly calls Bagheera and continuously has to relocate off of her laptop.
Arwen has a genuine love for life, and her passion, drive, and wild imagination seep onto every written page. Arwen has learned to keep going even when life knocks her down, and she has become a writer whose words are painted so visually that her world-building is beyond compare - stunning and breathtaking. Poe, King, and Tolkien sculpted her imagination at a young age, and she loves to dive headlong into the worlds they've created. She enjoys listening to Ean Grimm while she writes, and many have said you can hear the music in her worlds as her words weave characters, places, and events into life.
Arwen writes with such a ferocity that once you enter her world, you never want to leave. As her favorite quote says: "Fate whispered to her, 'You are not strong enough to withstand the storm.' And she whispered back, 'I am the storm.'"
Arwen Chandler lives in South Texas with her loving husband, whom she refers to as her very own Karn Elohite.
My Review of Caged: The Clans of Arcadia By Arwen Chandler.
Caged is the first book I’ve read by this author after coming across the cover on Facebook. I really enjoyed the magic of this story and following the captive faeries, dragons and changelings throughout the book. I also liked that this is a rather quick read packed with emotions and adventures related to a battle and that can be read within three hours or an afternoon in my case. I will have to go back now and read the other two books in the series.
The story itself follows many magical faerie, dragons, and changeling as they try and create peace between the Elusive cult of Bahs. While doing so they discovered a captured fairy who, like her family, was born behind bars, waiting for the day when her powers would be fully drained. A battle takes place, but who will come out alive? You’ll have to read this book to book to find out.
All the characters in this book have their own story and special way about them. Two of my favourite characters were Caderyn and Alurea because their friendship seemed special and I liked how they bonded when they were trapped and helped each other in the best way possible.
I also loved the vivid description that dragged me into the story and helped me imagine every scene and get a sense of what the characters looked like, as well as the wonderful world around them that set the tone for the battles and some heartfelt moments ahead.
Chapters are written through the point of view of different leading characters, which not only helped me connect with the characters, but also revealed a great deal about their goals and feelings throughout their journey.
I thought the author did a great job with the ending; it was emotional, yet magical all at the same time and kept open the possibility of another book in the series. If you like mystical creature and lands laced with battles and dragons this book is for you.
