First, the title is misleading. It should be called, "Write Non-Fiction Books to Sell Your Products and Seminars." This isn't a book for writers. It's a book for business people who want to write a book or two to bring in customers. If you're a writer, this isn't for you.

Not exactly the book I was looking for, but useful nonetheless. I think it'll give me a leg up on my promotional stuff, but primarily it is geared towards people who use their book as a promotional tool for a second revenue stream.
A shot in the arm for my 'brand'.

In this book, author Rob Kosberg begins by discussing how, at one time, the reach of his professional content didn’t match what he recognized as its superior quality. For him, the solution — which eventually became the central tenet of his brand, Bestseller Publishing — was to revamp the entire process by which authors market their new books. As such, in this book, he instructs authors exactly how to follow his advice.
This is an immensely helpful informative piece for any aspiring author. Even though I have no current plans to write a book, as a voracious reader, I was fascinated by what I learned. I was intrigued, for example, by the concept that the mind best retains information in ones and threes and how this is a crucial tool when creating a subtitle. I also was struck by how much consideration goes into the choice of the color of a book’s cover, as every tone conveys a certain mood; pink, for example, is fun and especially attractive to a female audience, while blue emits trustworthiness.
I had a lot of fun reading this book, and I strongly recommend it to anyone with any interest in the publishing industry.

Good

Good book but not specific to my writing. There was a sales tone throughout the book. But none the less it was informative and helpful. Heck, I may even use the company, who knows.

As a writer, I constantly search for resources to improve my craft. I began writing a book several years ago, and the journey is ongoing. Yet, completing a book and knowing what steps to take next are two distinct challenges. That's why books like this one are incredibly valuable."

The beginning of this book is filled with glowing testimonials from individuals who have benefitted from the author's teachings on success. What stood out to me was the emphasis on purpose as the key to achieving success in publishing, promoting, and profit. The author presents everything in a direct and no-nonsense manner, leaving no room for sugarcoating.

I resonated with the author's reflective questions as I read, prompting me to diligently jot down notes. One phrase in particular lingered in my mind throughout this read: "I would rather be good than lucky." It is a guiding principle I want to keep at the forefront of my mind as I navigate the path.

The author reveals that many dream of writing a book, but few take action and even fewer succeed. I aspire to join this elite group of achievers.

Be aware this book isn’t merely about writing that book but about how to build something successful and long-lasting after writing the book, which includes guidance for publishing and profiting.

The author makes it very clear that understanding one’s purpose for writing and those to whom they are in service too is essential. Aiming to simply profit is not the way to be the success one desires to be.

I appreciate this book so much. I have so many more notes to take. This is certainly one I will be going back to repeatedly to ensure I didn't miss anything. The important thing to remember is that a person gets from a book what they desire to get from it. Treasures are mined, not handed over.

Practical Advice for People Who Have Clients

I liked the book, it was well written and offered some practical no nonsense ways for someone who is a sales professional or a business person who have clients, to profit from writing a book, publishing and marketing that book so,it becomes a best seller in the niches the book talks about and then either using an existing platform or building a new one to book speaking engagements or be mentioned in Press releases, etc. I would have liked to see more content that would help someone who doesn’t have clients or they are not a sales professional or a business person. I am a mid-level manager with 25+ years experience dealing with customers in various industries. I am writing a fiction novel currently, so the title of the book “Publish. Promote. Profit.,” intrigued me, so,I bought the ebook version and read it. But I was disappointed that the author only talks about using an existing client base or has a business that they could grow and earn more profits from writing and publishing their first book talking about some area that they are an expert on and how to capitalize on that by writing, publishing, and marketing that book.

I get it, but how does the author’s plan help someone who doesn’t have a client base or a business “yet”..?

This book's focus is on book-writing as a tool to advertise your business. Reading it, I find the subtitle a little deceptive, as you're not really making money with the book you would write, but with the business you're seeking to promote through the book.

I suppose if what you're trying to do is promote a business, writing a book to paint yourself as an expert in that business is fine. It wasn't why I bought the book, however. Further, one must keep in mind that Mr. Kosberg is using this book to promote his own business. He naturally, therefor, doesn't tell you of anyone's failures in following his method - only his successes, including no statistics regarding what percentage of his clients have success of any kind.

As such, I find this merely your average self-help book.

This book is, of course, part of the Author’s sales funnel for his Best Seller Publishing business, but true to the model he describes, he offers useful information herein. The book is a quick read. It’s written in a flowing conversational style and includes links to valuable resources. The book is aimed principally at business people who want to grow their credibility through their book, rather than at aspiring writers. For the latter, the first section may be familiar material. For newer writers who want to learn how to promote and profit from their books, the second and third section may offer facts and resources worth examining.

WARNING! There are authors like this who dream up a best-setting title and fill the pages with drivel on the assumption you won't return it in time to get your money back.

This book is full of bragging about what the author did, turgid prose and glib quotations that add up to nothing. Listen to this: "Out of all the available options of books, products, or services, why should I read yours (as opposed to anybody else) or, in fact, why should I read anything at all? --That's a phrase I learned from Dan Kennedy." Who gives a crap about Dan Kennedy!

I got ten pages in and deleted the nonsense I wasted $.99 on from my Kindle.

Very encouraging

Not only is this book educational, it has also encouraged me to continue on even after it seems that I have failed. I never considered writing a book until I read this one. I learned so much about how to publish a book. One of the biggest takeaways is to write in a way that shows your characteristics and personality. That’s what will make your book different and make it stand out from others. Using a ghostwriter wouldn’t necessarily help you accomplish that. I also learned a lot about creating curiosity with the book title. Very helpful info.

This was a good book from the author's perspective. He wrote it to bring protective clients to his business. I didn't know this when I got it. This is a good book if you want to use a book to drive another business you have or public speaking or training you do. I don't have any of this so the book was of little use to me. However, it did teach me to read book blurbs more carefully so I know what I am getting.

Exactly what I needed.

I’ve written a book before, but I struggled to get it in front of the right audience. The section on positioning yourself as the 'hunted' was exactly what I needed. His tips on title creation, cover design, and marketing without spending a fortune are brilliant. I’m excited to relaunch my book with this new knowledge!

Awesome book! 151 pages. Quick read. 81% of us want to write a book, but 1% (or far less) do. Recommend if you plan on writing a book, or have written one and now want to publish it. I just finished writing a book, and with the tips mentioned here, I feel a lot more confident in my next step.

Another basic book

I had high hopes, but as a person who used to sell insurance, not much meat here on how to go about turning profits in book sales. Lots of basics. Not much on specifics.

I've taken Rob's author challenges. He says what he means and means what he says. His book recaps what he teaches. It's a great tool for a business person who can also write, to help potential customers know more about them and their business.

Good information with some excellent ideas on publishing, promoting and profiting from written work. The book, though, never leaves the realm of a sophisticated sales pitch to move forward with the real program - which is the authors main product.

Publish Promote Profit

What I liked about this book is the layout, which explains the three topics separately and concisely or to the point, which makes it easy to read and not put it down until the end.

It's a general book whose sole purpose is to sell the premium coaching program of the author.
