Another book with a lovely cover, full of promise, yet a bit of a struggle. It started off fine but somewhere along the line I began to struggle. I lost interest in both the characters and plot. Although a pleasant and light read I did not sadly find the style of writing to flow easy or keep me enthralled..no cliffhanget chapter endings at times to make me want to read more. However, I persevered to the end which was fairly predictable.

So much sadness throughout, and then the end.... well, the end maybe needed more explanation. Gil seemed to love too many women.

A beautiful story of love family relationships mistakes and heartache. I got sucked into this story from the start transported to another time. The characters are very real very flawed and believable. It's written and described so well I was taken to a different time and place. Much of the story is so sad and a lot of tragedy but such a lovely real romance.

A promising start. But then quite repetitive, no twists. Felt more focus should've been on main points in the story, lots and lots of detail on trivial build up. Predictable ending, but by the ending, the drama and suspene wasn't there. A bit disappointing.

Stupid title and worse cover art

This is a well researched historical romance with lots of good description of Newcastle history and geography. It is well worth an enjoyable read.
