A Nostalgic Look at the Dawn of the Jet Age
This book, written by a young TWA 707 captain, one of the first people to fly this remarkable aircraft, provides an informative introduction to the Boeing 707 and the designs that led to this ground-breaking aircraft. The book is well illustrated, with many photos that will also appeal to the technical enthusiast. For the airplane history buff, this book would be well worth five stars; I rated the book four stars only because since this volume was published, there are more detailed accounts out there. Author Barry Schiff deserves praise for his fine writing and views "from the Captain's seat." In addition, military variants, such as the KC-135 and VC-137B are featured. Fans of the Boeing 707 will enjoy this older book.
