In 2005 Andy Smart opted for a life change and hit the road; a truly amazing three year journey across China, South East Asia, South Korea and Mongolia. After setting roots down in Beijing he finally found the time to put the adventure on to paper. Andy writes with humour in mind so if you want something to put a smile on your face then grab ‘Just Turn Left at the Mountain, multi-entry trials & tribulations meandering across Chinese borders’. In his down to earth streetwise style Andy writes with the sole intention of making his readers laugh out loud and brighten up their day.
TEFL: A radical new approach designed especially to bring energy onto any spoken English lesson in China. Since getting his PGCE back in 1991 Andy Smart has taught in many different roles, primarily with secondary, SEN and EBD students while in the UK. Since 2006 he has been involved in TEFL with a special focus on spoken English in China. After thousands of hours in the classroom, Andy has developed a highly successful package known as ‘Kick-Ass Lesson Plans Discussion Questions & Activities China: Teacher’s Book’ or ‘Smart English DQA China’ (Kindle version).
100 topics for English Speaking Practice This book is a good guide for both native and non-native English speakers, as it contains tips which not only help you improve your speaking but also make you perfect your language. Andy Smart understands how important communication is, and so he listed down every crucial point one needs to master the English language. He starts by talking about the basics; greetings and goodbyes, simple words and phrases and how to use each. I loved that he wrote about the common errors we make in grammar, as I was able to see the mistakes I sometimes make. Every IELTS student should get this book as it is vital in their studying. The book is divided into 12 parts which talk about specific topics. They include daily life, health and fitness, education and work, culture and much more. I loved part 12 which was also the last part, as the author talked about society. Andy had interesting discussions when talking about politics, religion, alternative living, social problems, and success. There is so much one can learn from this book, that I would advise anyone who wants to be fluent in the English language to get it.
Single Source! A prep book for IELTS students focused improving scores, either too busy or lazy to get into multiple sources so this one-source could be the easiest path and for new diligent students. The book does not have answers within it, but it provides instructions to get it via email. It covers wide a variety of 100 topics and a good single source for grammar and vocab for writing and conversation. Each Topic is followed by a list of questions for practice. One thing I would say that a better approach would have been to add answers at the back of the book for students than using email process. Although I would confirm that I tried email to receive answers and I did get within an hour.

Great guide that covers a lot of ground, this book is highly recommended to improve your command of English.
This book goes into great depth as it explains both the IELTS test and loads of tips and information that makes great study materials. I like that this book does not just give a simple answer to questions but fully explains the rules behind when to use plurals, pronouns, conjunctions, and so much more. The book is packed full of informative and study tips and covers a broad range of material. What I also like about this book is that it goes into depth about the rules but also common ways in which language is used. Sometimes language learning books don't acknowledge colloquialisms. I thought that his book was useful, educational, and perfect as a study and learning tool.
