আজব ঘড়ির দেশে একটি কিশোর উপন্যাস। রিজিয়া রহমান প্রায় ১৫ বছর সময় নিয়ে এই সাইন্স ফিকশনটি লিখে শেষ করেছেন। সমগ্র বাংলা সাহিত্যে এ ধরণের উপন্যাস এর আগে আর লেখা হয়নি। এতে তিনি পৃথিবীর উৎপত্তি কাল থেকে আধুনিক যুগ অবধি কোটি কোটি বছর ধরে পৃথিবীর ভূ-প্রকৃতি, আবহাওয়া,প্রাণীর উদ্ভব, প্রাণী জগতের বিবর্তন, পৃথিবীতে মানুষের আগমন এবং আধুনিক কালে এসে পৌঁছে যাওয়ার দীর্ঘ ইতিহাস অত্যন্ত সহজ সরল ভাষায় গল্পের মাধ্যমে বলে গেছেন।

Rizia Rahman was an Indian-born Bangladeshi novelist. She had a number of novels and short stories to her credit. Her works cut across all genres.

She wrote in various genres since the late sixties: novels, short stories, essays, literary criticism, belles-lettres, and juvenile fiction. Beginning with straight forward narratives, she moved on to magic realism and multilayered structures. She explored important human issues in a sympathetic and engaging manner.
