24 pgs. This is a beautiful book with gorgeous photos throughout. The information could be used from Grades 2 - 5. Kids will be able to use this for reports or recreational reading. The basic information is broken into three sections for the three main rock types, but there is lots of additional information throughout. There is a glossary and index at the end of the book. Kids will enjoy this one. Highly recommended for Grades 2-5.

I'm a sucker for these Scholastic Side-by-Side books, probably because my four-year-old is at the age where he can manage to read most of the simple sentences designed to be read by kids. The book has beautiful photos and just enough information. We especially loved the many colorful rocks and gemstones throughout, especially the picture on the cover.
