I love the Yardbirds and went to see what was left of them in a medium-sized venue in the 90s. I met drummer Jim McCarty who seemed friendly enough and guitarist Chris Dreja who seemed surprisingly not very down to earth. Anyway, around the time of that gig I found this book in a 2nd-hand store and I'm giving it 4 stars because it's at least partially autobiographical in that the aforementioned members contributed and let's face it, there's probably not too many books published on The Yardbirds which has involvement from the band members. I will say though that's it's not particularly full of anecdotes, I would've preferred more, and it is only 160 pages but one has to be grateful for its existence. While I think of it I do want to take a gander at Jim's book one day.
