As we are often doomed to do, we look at topics through what we already know. This book on game design feels antiquated because it looks at games as they were during the early 1980s. Computer games are barely a thing and board games are limited in category to Scrabbles and Parcheesis. The field of game design is incredibly nascent at the time of publication, so little time is spent on what makes a _good_ game, instead this is more of a manual on how to _assemble_ a game. Good for some quick tidbits, but largely obsolete.
