The Deregulation of the Banking and Securities Industries
Goldberg (finance, U. of Miami) and White (economics, New York U.) present the results of a 1978 conference that brought together representatives from business, government, and academics. Much of the conversation revolves around the Glass- Steagall Act and attempts to remove the dividing line between banking and securities. No extra material has been added to this reprint, but those interested in the topic might find it valuable to compare the arguments to the actual deregulation that happened after its publication.
