This book is about a man who was once rich but ended up hitting hard times and had to work much more for his money. He ended up in a castle with the Beast. The Beast promised to let him go if the man would make his daughter live in the castle with the Beast. The girl did, but was soon given a ring and was sent home for two months. She ended up wanting to go back to the castle because she had fallen in love with the Beast. He turned back into a prince and he and the girl lived together in the castle.

This book could be used to compare other versions of the story, and then have the class come up with answers to what happened to the beast, how did belle get to be in the castle, etc., and then you could also have the class compare it to the movie.

I have never read a book about the story of Beauty and the Beast until I read this story. I remember watching this movie when I was younger and I was terrified of it because the Beast was in it. I like the Fairy Tale Treasury Series. It has the main story line of these traditional stories, but it is a very short version of them! They would be great idea to share with younger children who want to read about the story!

This is a slightly different twist to the fairy tale we know, A father has spoiled daughters except for his youngest and he picks her a rose. He gets caught and the beast says ill trade your life for your youngest daughter. she falls in love with him and saves his life.

This book is interesting I wouldn't say I would want to read it to really young kids since it is a little scary for younger eyes.

Beauty and the Beast is a beloved story about a young girl who cares for a prince. She meets the prince after he has already been cursed into a beast. She is able to save him because of true love. I would use this book in a lesson about villans/heros.

This is the traditional retelling of the beauty, Belle, and the beast and their journey from hate to love and how they overcome multiple adversities and break the curse.

The beast looks like a warthog lol. Much of the story is very skimmed over. Much too abbreviated for my taste. I really like some of the other books in this series by Jane Jerrard though.

Beauty and the Beast is about a girl and a beast. The girl's Dad promises the girl to bring back Beauty a rose. He finds a rose, but it is the Beast's. The Beast tells the dad that in order to live, Beauty must come live with him. The Dad agrees and Beauty and Beast live together for a long time. Beauty is able to go home and realizes that she misses her time with the Beast. She returns when she finds out the Beast was about to die and finds out that the Beast is actually a Prince. Beauty and the Beast end up getting married and living in the enchanted castle.

The fairy tale that I have selected is "Beauty and the Beast." I read three books under the same fairy tale and this book by Jane Jerrard appeal the most to me. All three of the books have the same outline: same beginning, middle and end, however, this version is more detailed. The differences in this book than the others is that Beauty has brothers and sisters, the way the Beauty and the Beast meet, and the magical item that Beast gives Beauty when she misses her home.

This book is much different than the movie I grew up knowing. Though similar, how Belle gets to the castle and back home is different. Her father orignially gives her up to the beast and then late the beast lets Belle go travel back home through the mirror. Other than those details the tale is much the same and is my favorite classic tale.

While searching for his lost fortune, a man ends up in a castle. When picking a flower for his daughter, Beauty, the Beast finds him and tells him he can be free if his daughter agrees to stay with him. Beauty eventually becomes quite fond with the Beast and her love turns him into the handsome prince he once was.

Beauty and the Beast is a beautiful love story that shows that if you truly love someone you cannot live without them, and you would do anything for them to ensure they are okay.

This book is a little different than the original Disney movie. The pictures are much different but the story-line is still the same and also very entertaining for lovers of the fairy tale genre.
