The German Language introduces students of German to a linguistic way of looking at the language. Written from a Chomksyan perspective, this volume covers the basic structural components of the German syntax, morphology, phonetics, phonology, and the lexicon.
I dont know anything about linguistics so there was a lot in this book that I didn't understand. But what I did understand was still really interesting and made me think about the history and politics of language. Definitely something I'm going to read more about.
