The author shares her memories of life in Oxford, Georgia in 1907, describes the townspeople, and discusses religion, clothing, food, and the Black community.
I grew up in Oxford, and didn't know half of the old stories about the town's founding that are contained in this volume. It was nice to hear about the beginnings of the college that I pass by nearly every day. In some ways, it makes me appreciate my home town all that much more. I have a fascination with history anyway, and to see the background in which I was raised from long ago was a treat.
