Silen’s life is on trial. They think he’s a Leech, a thief who steals people’s magic and twists it to his own ends. As if that weren’t enough, stealing magical Talents leaves people soulless, empty, and a breath away from death. The worst Leech in history left hundreds of victims in his wake, and Prince Padero and General Brint think Silen is the monster behind those deaths. They are examining his entire life for criminal activity, and the witness accounts are telling a very different story than Silen remembers. Can Silen expose the truth and prove his innocence, or has he been deluding himself, and must now accept that he is a Criminal from Birth?
Once again, A.F. Grappin brings us a world of absolute wonder. This time, we’re brought into a place where everyone has powers, and some powers are more acceptable than others. A young man is on trial for something he may or may not have done, and the odds are stacked against him. By the end, the truth behind everything comes out, and it’s an absolute roller coaster from start to finish. Can’t recommend this book enough!
