A practical guide and introduction to FPGAs: How to effectively search for information in a world without Stack Overflow

Rate this book
You might have heard of this odd thing called Field Programmable Gate Arrays(FPGA) that you have to do as part of coursework, final project or maybe just as a hobby. You will perhaps go on the Internet and search for information as you usually do. However, what you will find is that the FPGA community severely lacks documentation and how-to tutorials, and as such I was immensely frustrated as I had to scour every corner of the internet when I first started out developing for FPGAs to find the information that mattered.

This is not a book that teaches you the fundamentals of FPGA. The internet is a much better teacher in that regard. I am giving you the knowledge I wished I knew when I first started out developing for FPGAs, this is a book on how to find those great pieces of FPGA knowledge on the Internet that will help you immensely on your FPGA journey. It's the tips and tricks I have developed having been developing on FPGAs for the past 5 years. Unlike traditional software development, the FPGA community does not have Stack Overflow….yet(maybe you could make the next one!)

In this short book, you will learn how to :

1. Get a free FPGA through one of the possible channels
2. A personal recommendation of how to quickly learn FPGA development
3. All the little tips, tricks and golden nuggets I wished I knew when I first started out
