A standalone novel from the Dark Secrets universe. From Pennsylvania to New York City, and back again when her memories return, In My Blood is the story of a failed music student who wants a life on stage. Encouraged by her father to pursue a career in an orchestra, Jules Bard just wants to sing to a crowd of more colourful people. But a shameful secret holds her back. Jason Knight is a wounded man with a dark and disturbing past. So when he meets Jules and sees similarities in her to the woman he once loved, he allows himself to get closer where he might once have fled. Will Jason's past catch up with him, though, and put a swift end to this sweeping new romance, or will the fight in Jules be enough to keep them together? If you love a dark mystery with a touch of vampiric torture and blood drinking, In My Blood will be a page turner for you, because who wouldn't fall in love with a 150-year-old guy like Jason Knight.

After 17 wonderful years with these stories, I’ve made the heartbreaking decision to unpublish all of my books.

This has been a long time coming. In the past few years, my father passed away, my son was diagnosed with a chronic condition, and I’ve been struggling with major health issues of my own. These challenges have taken a heavy toll, and I no longer have the energy or capacity to continue writing and publishing.

To every reader who has supported the series, left kind reviews, and joined me on this journey... thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your love for these characters and this world has meant more to me than I can ever properly express. I’m so deeply grateful for every single one of you.
I may find my way back to writing one day, but right now it feels very unlikely. For the foreseeable future, I need to step away and focus on my family and my health.

Thank you again for all the joy and support you’ve given me over the years. It has truly been an honour.

With love and gratitude,
Angie

Jason and Jules

I'm so happy to finally see Jason getting his hea! Sure, they've all done some pretty horrible things, but he deserves his happiness, even though he still has to fight for it. Jules is amazing and strong and witty and so fun. She suits Jason perfectly, more than I believed Ara did, and I can't wait to see more of her as part of the family. Definitely recommend, and if you haven't already read the original DSS books, you should so you can get to know all the characters and know better where and how this one takes off.

Yesss

Spoiler alert....Jason finally has someone to love him an share his life with. An it makes me so happy!! I can't tell you how much i needed this book. Especially after reading all 3 in another life books back to back. Don't get me wrong tho. I love the whole series. But the darkness and pain the characters all continue to go through was starting to get to me. This was a little less disheartening of a read. An though it was a rollercoaster of emotions, i was pleasantly surprised at how the story turned out. An another plus, my hopes for their future were only darkened a couple of times lol. Much less than the previous books for sure. Which i found to be refreshing. A Must read for sure. One of my favorites so far!

I looked at some reviews before reading, and I totally agree that Jason deserved this ending. He finally gets closure, even though I have a feeling we have not seen the last of Lily. I also liked how this storyline portrayed the aftermath of abuse in a much lighter and more hopeful way. It contrasted nicely with the previous book, where the abuse ended but did not feel nearly as emotionally resolved. The introduction of new characters, who I hope to see more about, was a great addition, and I enjoyed the continued expansion of the existing characters, lore, and overall world-building.

Such a wonderful story! I always thought Jase and Lily was a little too easy. Poor poor Jules, but she is an amazing character. Loved this story very much.

Absolutely loved this book,as being a huge DSS fan i have read all Angela's books and am team David ,but it was nice to see Jase meet someone that he can love for himself. This was typical Angela's story telling as nothing is ever as simple as two souls meeting and falling in love,oh no there is always some that want this too go away and will stop at nothing to make this happen, but the strength and character of Jules who is awesome was having none of it and she was not taking any crap from Jase's family and lying down, she came back fighting every time for Jase.Fantastic book as always from this author,if you love dark Vampire reads these books are definitely worth picking up.
