Prof. Barrie Wilson's Paul vs James could be categorized as an historical thriller.
His historical reconstruction of early Christianity was a fascinating glimpse into the Jewish followers of Yeshua/Jesus, as well as Paul's founding of a new Gentile religion.
I had some basic knowledge of Paul, but this slim though very detailed book was extremely enlightening.
Prof. Wilson's dramatic telling of this very complicated period in history will keep the reader engaged long after the book is finished.

Captivating ideas
A short book with thought provoking debates. Paul comes across as a bad guy. Karen Informs us likewise in Apposotle you love to hate. So the writer is on firm ground. I enjoyed the Mattei character
