Horrifically dull. The details were mind numbing of the political machinations. The kidnapping was implausible. But, on the bright side, I would painstakingly read this at bedtime and would fall asleep quickly. Great book for insomniacs.

Trite. Lewd. Unrealistic.

I realize this was written decades before the Me Too movement, but the main character, President-Elect Jonathan Starr, telling his wife “I’m going to rape you.” as if that is somehow romantic or sexy is quite appalling.

I do, however, appreciate the author’s broad vocabulary and knowledge regarding the subject matter, in addition to well-researched details.
