Es un libro bastante revelador que da una buena mirada sobre las desventuras de nuestro país y algunos de los políticos importantes de la época, en los días más obscuros de nuestra nación, explica en gran medida algunas de las desiciones importantes sobre la campaña de Texas, los deshaciertos de los participantes, etc. A mí parecer es un poco pesado de leer en ocasiones, pero nunca en qué página puedes encontrar un dato histórico relevante, con un contenido parcial en ocasiones hace una crítica si de las desiciones tomadas en aquel momento, pero más allá habré la interrogante, de ¿que es lo que hemos hecho como mexicanos por nuestro país?...

Narrativa histórica que analiza la reconquista española de 1829, la independencia de Texas en 1836 y la intervención francesa de 1838 (guerra de los pasteles) en la cual se señala a Antonio López de Santa Anna como el responsable de la perdida de gran parte del territorio mexicano
