The sixth book in the hilarious and anarchic Roman Garstange Adventure series. It is the month before Christmas, and Roman's class is preparing for the Christmas fete and the school pantomime. The new teacher at the helm—the awful Mr. Le Salle, a flamboyant, theatrical, and downright nasty piece of work—is the least of Roman's worries. He also has to contend with the most rubbish role in the panto (being a box) as well as organizing the Santa's grotto stall at the Christmas fete with loose cannon Darren Gamble. As the panto nears, it seems that everything that could possibly go wrong is about to. It is left to Roman to save the panto and the day.

About the author

Mark Lowery is the author of seven books for children and young adults, including "Charlie and Me - 421 Miles From Home" and the Roman Garstang Adventures.

Both of his first two books - "Socks Are Not Enough" and "Pants Are Everything" - were shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize. "Socks Are Not Enough" was longlisted for the Branford Boase Award, and also won the Leeds Book of The Year Award and the Calderdale Book of the Year Award. "The Jam Doughnut That Ruined My Life" was shortlisted for the Children's Book Award.

He is a primary school teacher and lives near Cambridge with his young family.

After the group attend a theatre production gone wrong, a crazed self obsessed actor who takes over their school play too make it all about him and their teacher getting set on fire amongst other crazy action in this next instalment in the series!



Guaranteed to have you laughing your head off as Roman and his class end up in more hilarious situations you couldn't be fine to imagine this book should be on your to buy list!

Roman’s class suffers under a substitute teacher who fancies himself a man of the theater and casts Roman as a chewed-up pea in a ridiculous play about mince pie, aliens and Santa. Gamble also “helps” raise money for the production by feeding hair growth formula to Roman so he can be part of a freak show.
