I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher.

In another novella that has taken a turn away from the usual urban fantasy I enjoy from A.D Starrling, once again she's done what few authors manage to do and draw my attention from start to finish in this short story.

I enjoyed the Mars setting quite a bit, and this thriller with a touch of horror had me reading start to finish during a single rainy evening, which surprised me, as I normally don't find anything in this sort of genre that will hold my attention.

A.D Starrling is one of a select few authors that hasn't written anything I haven't enjoyed thoroughly, and I'd recommend any of her books or novellas to anyone who enjoys reading, regardless of their preferred genre.

Laura Cane, MD is sent to find out how, why and where colonists from Baker 2 are disappearing to. Although a short story, it does not detract from the creepy overall feel of the story. Well written, a touch of mystery that grabbed my attention from the first paragraph. No wasted time giving empty filler but straight to the story. Loved it!

I enjoyed this novella. A suspenseful creepy tale that keeps you guessing, set on a Mars Research Facility. The main character is well written and you are intrigued to follow her through this tale. It reads quickly if you have a small amount of time to kill and well worth the time. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher.

It is a story about the disappearance of scientists at a Mars station
It is a short story and slightly scary however I felt that it would have been better if the story had a bit more detail as it left one wondering why the last scientist suddenly turned into a murderer & why had the earlier scientists disappeared .
I received this book as an ARC free for an honest review

I don’t know what to think about this quick read.
This is not my normal genre but the story was intriguing, but it felt like it was missing something – what I cannot tell you but something.
I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review, but everything I write is my own opinion.

Very intense and suspenseful short story...too short as it leaves questions unanswered! The author did a group eat job in setting the hook! Hopefully there is a second story in the works!

I really liked this story. If you like sci-fi or horror, you'll probably like this. I just hope it leads to a longer book or a book series.

Chilling opening to what could be a very strong series. The characters seem complete with minimal exposition. Letting the story continue to unfold without interruption. There is a strong sense of control slipping away, and hysteria just ahead. And people are still disappearing…

I really liked it! I love A.D. Starrlings writing and this, though different from everything else I've read from the author, is as amazing as the rest.

This isn't my usual genre but I thought I'd give it a shot because I like other stories that A.D. Starrling has written. For being so short, this horror/scifi is pretty good. It pulls you in and builds suspense quickly. That's good writing. (Clean Read)

First let me say that I am not generally a fan of short stories; nor is horror a genre I am drawn to. But I have read and thoroughly enjoyed several of A.D. Starrling's books, so I thought I would give this one a whirl.

This well-done sci-fi/horror short story takes place in the future as humankind is colonizing Mars. The author did a fine job of setting the scene and drawing me in, but I thought it was a little predictable. I do think this story has lots of potential to become a longer novella or even a full-length novel. I know I was left wanting to know what happened next!

Short sci-fi horror story. While horror is not my preferred genre, it still felt too short to build up the suspense and develop the protagonist's character. It's a great story for sitting around a campfire at night.
