Move to a new town to keep my teenage son out of trouble? Check. Have a sexy neighbor? Check. Play her fake boyfriend? Double-check.
The move seems to be the best thing that has happened to Knox Dyer in a long time. However, no matter how small the town is, he soon learns that trouble can follow you everywhere.
Falling for Sarah seems inevitable once she asks him to play her boyfriend at the local police ball. Not that Knox minds at all. Still, when she causes a rift between him and his son, he has to make a choice.
His son is everything to him, but what if in order to be a good father Knox has to give up on the one woman he wants?
Author's Each book in this series can be read on its own.
Just a free-lance lover of the written word and fictional worlds... Everyone has that one perfect book boyfriend... I wanted my own, so... Here we are!
I've been writing since I figured guys in real life don't do what I want them to do, and there is nithing better than to write the stuff you like... Until I realized that THOSE boys don't do what you want them to do, either... *sighs*
Blurb: Move to a new town to keep his teenage son out of trouble? Check. Have a sexy neighbor? Check. Play her fake boyfriend? Double-check.
The move seems to be the best thing that has happened to Knox Dyer in a long time. However, no matter how small the town is, Knox soon learns that trouble can follow you everywhere. Falling for Sarah seems inevitable, and Knox doesn’t mind at all, but the woman that’s so good for him causes a new rift between father and son.
Can Knox reconcile with his teenager or will he have to give up on the one woman that might change his future?
Knox Dyer's teenage son Callum has been hanging with the wrong crowd in Atlanta and getting into trouble so Knox gives up his career as a lawyer and moves to a small town to start over, although not as a lawyer.
On the first day, moving in, he and Callum get into another verbal fight on the doorstep which is interrupted by a woman out jogging who is cute and toned and funny. When she brings over pizza later that night as a welcome to the neighbourhood Knox could be in love, only trouble is, so could Callum! When Callum challenges Knox and says Sarah is interested in him, makes it a competition, Knox knows he needs to push Sarah away to avoid any awkward declarations of love from Callum.
Sarah Burke is a cop, she takes a keen interest in her community but has been single ever since her daughter died. When her captain insists she hosts the annual Police ball she is determined not to be sat on the sad singles table AGAIN so she lies and says she's bringing a boyfriend, and who better than the sexy single dad who just moved in down the road, perhaps she can bribe him to be her fake boyfriend with pizza?
Knox is the first man Sarah has felt anything for, the first man that has interested her at all since her child died, but she can't tell whether he's acting interested because he's her fake boyfriend or whether he feels the same way she does. And then he suddenly pulls away and says she can't come round anymore?
Fun novella that felt like it could have been a full-length novel, I had lots of questions about why Knox would give up being a lawyer and become a removal guy? Surely being a lawyer is a pretty portable profession? And why move home without even looking for a new job? And I didn't really understand why Callum's crush had to be a secret or why that meant that Sarah shouldn't come over to the house.
But overall, if you fancy a hot single dad and a sassy cop novella then this is right up your street.
Knox was a single dad raising Callum his teenage son alone and struggling to keep control over his rebellious son so he packed up and moved to A smaller town in the hopes it would help. There by chance he met Sarah and they seemed to “gel” instantly. At first there was a struggle for dominance between Knox and his son when Callum developed a crush on Sarah too. I have to say during this stage I wanted to reach through my kindle and strangle him. Callum’s attitude towards his father and respect level made my inside voice scream LOL Sarah was a police officer and danger was part of the job but one particular night when she was called to disrupt a fight (realising Callum was a part of it) she was stabbed while trying to protect him. I loved this read, it kept me engaged the whole time and loved that there was a happy ending not only for Knox and Sarah but also Callum.
This one took me 65 minutes to finish! I'm still hungry I need more.
And she did it again! Seriously where she cooks up all this stories. I'm a chef but I would really like to spend a day in Sam's kitchen when she's cooking the story. If any producer or director is reading they should definitely contact Sam about her books to convert them in the movies. Like Tagged Soldier series this one also have the potential to end up as a Motion Picture.
Sweet Romance and no surprises, means how she cooks up in that and wrote a good story. Normally author go for some twist and turns before ending HEA.
Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant! Keep them coming, and take one advice from me and make them little bigger in story and pages. It ends very quickly for me.
Swoonworthy & Sweet Knox is the polar opposite of Dale from Single Dad's Nightmare. He is the ultimate guy, one any sane woman would wish for. He's got an arsehole of a teenage son causing him trouble and anyone who has or has suffered through a a Childs teenage years will relate to him. I most definitely did. Sarah is a great chick and she was perfect for Knox. I really hope this author has more single dads for us.
This was the second book in the series and it was just as good as the first. Being a single dad has to be hard, Knox has been raising his son pretty much alone. He was a corporate attorney but when Callum started getting into trouble he figured a small town would be better. Sarah grew up there and still loved in her family home after they all moved to Florida. She is police officer. They meet by chance when she is running by their house. The rest is great.
Having teenage sons myself, I totally related to Knox. Like so much so that I worried I wouldn’t be able to fall for him. But He had me swooning in no time. Sarah is pretty bad ass and I really liked her character. This is a great addition to the series.
I loved this book so much. It was truly nice to see a father-teenage boy interaction. Loved the chemistry and the story overall, and can't say enough good things about the ending. A perfectly woven story by Sam Destiny. Can't wait for Hayden now!!!
