A nice introduction to the great artist with plenty of colourful illustrations. What I like about this book is how straight forward it is. Previous books I have read about Picasso were more about the author's interpretation of the artist's life and how it affected his work. In which is a standard lay-out for art books but sometimes can become overly explanatory to the extent that the work itself can only be seen through the eyes of the author. Here Leslie highlights Picasso's work and styles first and then writhes of his personal life during the different stages of his art.
