Better than some other low carb cookbooks. Not useful for me (see cons), but it was OK.

Pros:
- Time, effort and budget conscious.
- Doesn't contain long laundry list of ingredients.
- Contains nutritional information for each recipe.
- Almost 250 recipes, cooking each takes 20 min or so.

Cons:
- Uses processed food (bacon, ham, roast beef, sausages, mayo, applesauce, hot sauce, canned food)
- Uses soy, tofu, canola oil, margarine, whole wheat, germ and similar things.
- You should use butter and cream sparingly, but not the bacon...
- Another low saturated fat cookbook.
- He finds that freshly squeezed lemon juice makes any food better. Compare to your feeling about that.

If you don't know why these are listed as cons, I would recommend
Low phytate, low lectin diet: in the book The Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson (Mark's Daily Apple website),
Living the Low-Carb Life: From Atkins to the Zone Choosing the Diet That's Right for You by Jonny Bowden (jonnybowden website),
Cure Tooth Decay by Ramiel Nagel (Cure Tooth Decay website).

It may seem funny to list a cookbook as a book that you would actually sit down and read, but I found myself doing just that. This book offered a lot of information about carbs, stocking the pantry, and food alternatives. When I found out my husband was diabetic this book was more help than the nutritionists we saw. The meals that I have cooked have been wonderful, there is something for every kind of palate. This is not the first nor will it be the last time I will be reading this book.
