This is a good book on general surveying. I have another book by the same author and this is largely just a reprint of the same material. I was disappointed that construction specific content is lacking. For example, there is no information on how and why different staking applications are accomplished. No mention of when/where different markers such as; wood stake, mag nail, rebar, etc. are appropriate. No mention of staking offsets. No description of how taking elevations of structures such as manholes or curbs. There is not even an index entry for lath and no coverage of standard street markings for utilities.
