For the most part, Kirby Shelton is content with her life. She's building a new law practice in Colorado Springs, after losing her first in a bitter divorce, and loves to skydive in her spare time. Then she meets Leah Dalton, the computer software queen, and her world is suddenly turned upside down. Leah, facing a losing battle with cancer, comes to Kirby with a plan to end her life on her terms. Inviting Kirby, and five of her closest friends, to her estate, she offers to make one of them a multi-millionaire. All they have to do is kill her and make it look like an accident. It sounds like something out of the Twilight Zone, but Kirby gives into her morbid curiosity and takes Leah up on her invitation. After meeting Leah's friends and sensing the love and dedication they have for this woman, it's easy to assume one of them will go along with her absurd plan.

All in all this was a great read. The only problem I had with this book was I guess I have a different idea of what a Christian book should be. This has a wonderful plot, great characters, clean adult fun. However, in trying to bring a group of people to accept Christ into their hearts, this became a lecture & conversion book. Quite different than what I look forward to reading. In the beginning, it actually stated that Christians would not have accepted an alcoholic beverage, before supper. Excuse me, but if you mean Baptist, Quaker, and certain other sects, that is true. However, it is not true of all Christian groups. Praying before meals, pure relationships, and real life stories is what I want to read. I think it was great, that people were changing left & right, due to their new beliefs, but I felt the emphasis was on the conversations and not the story, which was incredible. Not a spoiler, but a note, make sure you have a hankie close by towards the end.
Since I love her books, will try this, though the subject is one I hesitate to read. Could one impose that on your friends, even for money. Meeting with her attorney, asking her to find one to help kill her. She had spent two months, and knew she had come to the right person. It is to look like an accident. A story rich in relationships with family, friends, and God. Beautiful ending with skydiving, and a smiling Leah from heaven.
I get that some people like Christian and faith books, I am not one of them. I don't have anything against Christianity and religious beliefs but the continued talk of God and faith and transformation to a "believer of the truth" drones on top much for my taste, ruined my enjoyment of a good story so much so that it felt like it was being rammed down my throat and I didn't even finish the book.
This was the most heartwrenching book I have ever read! But I could not lay it down. I was very pleased with the Christian interaction and how it played a role in bringing others to Jesus. Brought more tears to my eyes than any other book I have read.

I was initially leery but I was soon hooked and was thrilled with how it turned out! A great read that kept me turning the pages as it powerfully presented the gospel. Loved it!
