Rate this book
Lachlann flees to Scotland to escape witch hunters, only to have one target him. Lachlann has made a good life for himself in Scotland, learning to fight with a sword to back up and better hide his magical powers. But when a witch hunter shows up bent on his town's destruction, he may have to flee to save them. but the hunter's daughter, Isla, has claimed his heart despite him warding off love. Why his magic fails him now, he couldn't begin to explain. Can he risk death at the hands of her father just for a chance at her love? Isla has spent years with her father tracking down dark witches...and not so dark witches...and rumors thereof. She has also spent those years trying to protect them from people like her father. She has a dark secret which could get her killed, one she wants to entrust to Lachlann, despite everything. Love strikes her the first time they touched, and now, she is stuck between her father and the man who stole her heart. How can she choose between safety and her heart's desire? More, could she trust Lachlann with her secret? Because, if she trusted wrong, the penalty was death at her own father's hands.

A Hunter, a Witch, and a Shrew #8 - This is my first read by this author and I worried about this being the eighth book in a series; I don't do well without at least the first book setting the foundation of the series.

This book is so well written that I was immersed in the story from the first page on. The author's writing style, clear descriptions and interesting characters wove a story full of emotions. I got lost in smooth flow of the story and was surprised when I finished. I didn't understand the last chapter: how the books usually end? Setting up the next book with these new characters?

Good action, good suspense and a good romance. I did skip the sex scenes, which I always find boring and unnecessary many times. It did appear there was other things and thoughts involved during the sex but not worth my time to investigate. This would have been a good book for younger readers since the language is clean and the violence isn't graphic.

” A Hunter, a Witch, and a Shrew” by Enduring Legacy is a tale of Scotland in 1603...during the time of the Witch Hunts and how dangerous it was at that time to even be suspected of witchcraft...much less truly be one. The story centers around a love affair between Lachlann a man with magical powers he must keep hidden at all costs and
Isla ..a witch hunter’s daughter who harbors a dangerous secret of her own ...even from her own father. Can the couple maintain their love while staying one step ahead of those who would denounce them and then burn them at the stake ?!? Read this exciting tale to find out. MUCH enjoyed and Highly Recommended.

I loved this story

This is Lachlann's story, Scotland has called him home and he goes back to his village, He takes care of an old healer he calls grandmother. He has magic of his parents. The witch hunter comes to the village with his daughter and Lachlann has dreamed of her for years. This story kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Tha witch hunter is an awful man and his daughter tries to help the ppl when all along she has magic herself. You will be biting your nails and saying no way all the this nook. Very well written, amd I loved the whole story so much. Highly recommend this series

This is my 1st read and review for this author and I enjoyed this book immensely. A Hunter, a Witch and a Shrew it sounds like the beginning of a joke but it’s not it’s a fantastic romance story of Isla and Lachlann. Lachlann is a witch on the run from witch hunters when he is found by a hunter and his daughter Isla, they fall in love but Isla has a secret of her own but can she trust Lachlann with it or will the hunter become the hunted?. A fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Treachery and death

The legacy of witchcraft has been with us for centuries, this is a well-written novel about the subject. Kept my interest with the story of treachery with a love story. Leona Bushman is a new author to me, one I will follow. For anyone who enjoys historical fiction, romance, and witchcraft.

This is an interesting story with an entertaining story line. The author brings action , suspense and witchcraft along with the romance between Lachlann and Isla. She throws in some drama along with the steam. I enjoyed reading their story.

Set in 1603, this is a medieval fantasy read.

Isla and Lachlan are sweet together and he teaches her the pleasures of the flesh.

It’s all in the title.
