This book seems a summation of several internet articles, blogs and posts. Without going deep into communication skills, this books present generic prescriptive word mill.
Still, okay for a quick read. However, whole content of the book can be properly fit into 15 pages.
Writing style deserves no more than 1 star. The last two bonus chapters kind of deviate from the book’s main goal.

"First, know your value. Then, speak your value."

"Fear exists in our head to prevent us from doing things - even things that will benefit us. That's where assertiveness can help. ... Here's the truth about fear: it's mostly self-defeating fiction. This world was made for leaders. Stop listening to the fear bullshit and start leading. You'll gain more respect, more experience, and ultimately more freedom. Keep your response to it rational. But don't live in fear. Ever."

This is a really well put together book. The author does a great job framing concepts and ideas. This is definitely a “keep on the shelf” resource book. It had nuggets for immediate use, and areas I’ll revisit as issues arise. I would recommend to general audiences, practicing communicators, and up and coming leaders in business.

Effective and Practical

Easy to read and follow. Practical examples on how to improve your business communication skills. Would have loved to see a little more on techniques to implement under tough environments/situations. Overall, good read.

Concise, actionable advice. I'm pondering the comment that stories help us remember presentations. An area for me to work on.

Easy to read book which covers key concepts in communicating better.

Sometimes the tone is a bit too friendly/chatty (use of swear words) for my liking but that might just be me.
