इनकी ज़िंदगी में ऐसी दो घटनाएँ हुईं जिनकी वजह से इस किताब का जन्म हुआ। पहला, जब इन्होंने नौकरी छोड़कर पहाड़ों की और रुख किया और दूसरा जब रेलवे स्टेशन के बुकस्टैण्ड पर इन्हें सआदत हसन मंटो साहब की कुछ किताबें मिलीं। जहाँ पहाड़ों ने इन्हें स्थिर होना सिखाया वही मंटो की कहानियों ने वह हिम्मत दी जिसे ये कई सालों से ढूँढ रही थीं। अँग्रेज़ी में अब तक कई कहानियाँ और लेख छप चुके थे, लेकिन हिंदी में लिखने की हिम्मत अब आई। फ़िलहाल एक लेखिका होने के साथ-साथ ये एक प्रशिक्षित पर्वतारोही हैं जिसे पहाड़ों में आराम फ़रमाना और मीठी चाय बेहद पसंद है।

I wander will there be an author who would write stories as good as the stories of Munshiji, then I feel at least some of them are not running it as badly as Kamleshwar.

Baaki ki baat is a collection of short stories some good, some okayish.

After years I have picked up Hindi literature. Though the stories are good they somehow lack a connection which a good story written in regional language often has.
Author's command on the subtlety of the subject in few stories is quite remarkable.
