The Ugly Duckling Pantomime Script

Rate this book
Meet lots of colourful farmyard characters in this charming pantomime version of Hans Christian Andersen’s much-loved children’s story. Down by the pond, the Dragonfly and the Frog meet with Mummy Duck who has great plans for when her duckling is born. However, the Ugly Duckling discovers he is “different” and doesn’t fit in on the farm. He leaves, and starts his journey to find where he belongs. On the way, he encounters the Hunters and Drumstick the Turkey. Although he’s helped by the friendly Dog, the mischievous cat Fluffy Tom Tom is out to get him! Farmer Jolly is there with Daisy the Cow, and the farmer’s daughter Chantelle teaches the Ugly Duckling a useful lesson. Finally he discovers his true self and is reunited with Mummy Duck and all his farmyard friends in a heartwarming happy ending with a clear message of accepting difference and fitting in. This is a wonderful retelling of the classic story – a great read in itself, or for those interested in performance, there is nothing more to pay as amateur rights are included in the price of the ebook. Derek Grant has been writing tales of the macabre since he first put pen to paper in the first grade. He has had several short stories published by such e-zines as Plots with Guns, Twilight Showcase and House of Pain.

As a longtime resident of the Canadian north, Derek always felt the region was seriously under-represented in the genre he loves. So he decided to remedy the situation, and Cold Fear (his first novel) is the result.

He now lives in Saskatchewan and plans to make the prairies frightening in the very near future.
