Bright, attractive animation-style illustrations (think Pixar), with sweet text that could apply to biological parents or adoptive ones. Definitely a sure-fire win for a baby shower gift. I think the only missed opportunity here is that each page could have shown a different family with a new baby to be inclusive of racially diverse/LGBTQ /etc. parents.

Ferrari’s tender story about a new arrival in the family is told in perfect rhyme. And Dong’s vibrant illustrations bring Ferrari’s words to life. An excellent book for a baby shower, Precious Baby helps introduce a new addition to a family. You can feel the joy and happiness on each page. I highly recommend this book for all new families.

A great book for expecting parents or parents of a newborn. In rhyme, the book shows scenes of idyll moments between a mom and dad and their newborn - playing in a nursery, a stroll outside, etc. The illustrations are appropriately bright during daytime scenes and warm for bedtime. Very sweet book!
