No one's Perfect: When the abused becomes the abuser.

Rate this book
Young Patrick Devine was guided into the priesthood by his over-zealous mother. It was her belief that as a woman could not be ordained, it was her solemn duty to become the mother of a priest. This was her highest aspiration and subsequently well-earned accolade. However, throughout Paddy’s long career, there were repeated rumours of his having inappropriate sexual relationships with very young parishioners.
This novel examines changes in the official response to underage sex over the past fifty years as well as the fickleness of public opinion within the same time-frame. It further explores the damaging effects of abuse on its victims. It asks if the victims could ever be satisfied when justice is finally metered out on the perpetrator. At the same time, it tries to comprehend the role of the Roman Catholic Church authorities in moving predatory priests, rather than bringing them to justice.
