Missing Violet by Eunice Kerr is a pleasant tale of a young woman fleeing from her guardian/cousin who is trying to pressure her into a relationship. When rape becomes all too possible Violet takes her chance on becoming a mail-order bride and leaves her home to ride a train from Boston to Montana where she will meet her husband-to-be. She can only hope her new situation will be better than the one she is leaving. Violet gets off the train and quickly discovers how different life in Montana will be. It also turns out that she has been corresponding not with her intended but with his father. How is this going to work out?

This is a sweet story with a happy ending. There are several interesting characters, although I am not sure they always behave in a realistic way. There is a happy ending, which is a must for many readers. Everyone lives happily ever after.

I recommend this book. It is a quick, easy read, very positive, and leaves you with a satisfaction that is hard to describe.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

A wonderful story with characters you care about and a twist. A hard to put down read!

Violet is a meek woman who has always done what her father wanted. Sam is a gentle soul who feels no woman could love him.Together they find who they truly are together. This is a wonderful story. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Thought provoking and amusing

Although I was never as meek as our leading lady here, it is very real to me that finding a strong man who wants to be with you is life changing.
It is a good book.

Two star rating

Story was ok. Pretty typical of stories about mail order brides from back in the days of American history. Easy and quick read.
