Book written from Scott's PhD Thesis on rise of non-traditional academic leaders.  Interesting background on his personal decisions and process as well as good fodder on the overall selection process and what it takes to actually be selected as a liberal arts president.  Sobering facts on how tough it is

Reminds those interested in raising to higher positions that it is all about the students. I like his nom-biased approach even though he himself is a non-traditional leader. Very interesting read!
