In the second book the genetic secret to identifying the sidhe had fallen into the hands of Mors Ferrum and their mysterious leader Alexander Dyson. Now in Italy Rowan and the Ruadhán sidhe are outmanoeuvred and outclassed and to save her family Rowan must surrender herself to the machinations of Dyson, who explains his own plans that suggest everything isn't quite as black and white as she has been lead to believe, nor the connection between Dyson and her father.
The third book gives us a chance to see more characters developed, her half-brother Dante who hunts the Mors Ferrum who have taken his wife, the more revealed of Maeve and her motivations the more sympathy you begin to feel for those she hunts, and Erin still loathes her in a snarky way you cannot help but find fun.
The physical and mental battles are as evocative and interesting as ever and the world building till now is successfully put to the test, so it feels like the world truly is at stake and will change forever good or ill. The descriptions in the Stibbert Museum allowed me to think I had seen it myself.
I have one quibble in describing Italian traffic Rowan describes it thus "so far it seemed a lot more polite and sensible than in Australia. Here they let people in, even without indicators". I think Ms Flint hart is conflating Queensland drivers with the rest of Australia.
My only regret is while a few loose ends remain, some looser than other, cough FINN, cough the story feels concluded and I enjoyed the world so much I am reluctant to leave it behind.

Trilogy went downhill
Loved first book. Second book started to become too corrupt and everyone and everyone betrays her on a fundamental level. I hated the ending of this book that basically states that the ends justify the means.
She becomes a mass-murderer for the “greater good”
She ends up doing something at the end that I felt was wrong
I actually like the main character, but the author destroys her and I did not like the direction this went at all.
Lies and deceit does not a good ending make

A really great story!!
Wow, I think I have a new favorite author. The books are all well written, and the timeline of the story between books is seamless. Rowan has to learn to trust others, she and her mother have been on the run for so long she just can't bring herself to trust the people who are supposed to have her back. Or do they? Read the books for yourselves, you won't be sorry.

Great story and characters. Loved the intrigue and ,paranormal influenc e s Rowan is such a relatable character

Wow!
Absolutely brilliant, loved every minute of this series. I started it after reading the first one in a book called Relics and Runes, now I'm hooked.

Well this was a great way to finish the series, although the way it has been left could leave way for further books, who knows.
The books so far have been ongoing in the battle to withhold the sidhe secrets becoming known to the human population of the world. This book take the battle to Italy where secrets are revealed and Rowan struggles with knowing who to trust and whose side is the one to be on. She comes face to face with Alexander Dyson and is shocked to discover his true identity.
Rowan really comes into her own in this book and she learns to trust and finally lets her walls down. Things would have been so much simpler if everyone had been open about and honest with her.

An exciting and spellbinding conclusion to this epic urban fantasy series! With more interesting characters and plot twists, I guarantee you'll be gripping the edge of your seat until the very end.

Great ending to the trilogy! Lots of subterfuge and double crossing before you find out which side everyone is on.
