I liked the strong female character in this story, Marguerite. She had wanted to be a SWAT officer for a long time and after a lot of hard work and some challenges, she made it. She still had challenges after she made it but she kept pushing through. She meets an FBI agent, Diego, and they immediately have a LOT of chemistry. I enjoyed the hurdles they had to work through as two dedicated law enforcement officers trying to date! That would be very difficult, especially ones with jobs like theirs. The crime of human trafficking that the story was following was sad and interesting at the same time. The author did a good job in a short novella in portraying the situation of this important subject. Both Marguerite and Diego had strong feelings for each other but their faith in God was on totally different levels so in the end they had to go their separate ways but.....can they get back together? I felt there a little too much time spent on the religious part of the story, especially since it was a novella. In a regular book it would have been fine but a novella, you don't have much space! Still, overall a very good story! Great characters too!!!

I loved this well-written story. I liked the well-developed characters and the tension created between the 2 main characters because only 1 was a Christian. I especially liked how Elle E. Kay illustrated the heartache caused by a Christian dating a non-Christian. The pacing of the story was perfect for this suspenseful tale. There is a very sweet HEA. I plan to read more of this author's work. I would recommend Lawfully Defended to readers of romantic suspense, sweet romance readers, and Christian romance readers. I received an ARC. A nice short suspense story of a female SWAT team member and the FBI agent she meets and falls for. But as their faith does not mesh their relationship is doomed. He is steadfast in his faith, she is not a believer until he has her questioning about faith in God. With the help of her Christian sister and distance from the man she loves, she will accept her new faith in God and that He is important in her life. But is it too late to have a relationship with the man she loves?

Just finished your book lawfully defended, enjoyed it so much. The main characters were very good and it was nice to read that they broke up so she could find Jesus as her saviour before he would allow them to be together again. So nice to read a book that brings those things into perspective and makes the rest of us stop and think. What can we do, if we take Jesus as our saviours. A great read. A great book! I liked the characters, and the fact that they were all law enforcement was really neat. I’m glad the author addressed not being equally yoked in this book. The book was well written with romance and action. Truly enjoyed this book!

Great Romance

The characters are attracted to each other from their first meeting. Due to different belief's in God. They struggle and break off the relationship. I will not give anything else away.
