Alex Hunter was getting on just fine, blagging her way through life and enjoying her London lifestyle… perhaps a little too much. But when she loses her job, gets dumped and is made homeless within the space of a fortnight, Alex reluctantly returns to her home town – a place she thought she’d left for good 10 years earlier. With barely a penny to her name… Alex is surprised to find there are some advantages to moving back: reconnecting with old friends who had been such a big part of her teenage years. Although being back brings up old feelings Alex thought she had buried for good, feelings that should be well and truly left in the past – especially when it came to her old high school boyfriend, Lewis Ashworth. Desperate to return to her London lifestyle, Alex takes advice from her old school friend Cody McKenzie, who suggests she only has to “fake it till she makes it” How hard can that be? After all, hadn’t she been doing that for years?
Whether reluctantly trying to drive her nan’s mobility scooter, putting bullying bosses in their place or looking for creative ways to avoid her mum’s increasingly weird cooking, follow Alex’s laugh-out-loud journey to “making it”

Brilliant read .Very funny.Alex is a likeable character and the trouble she gets into made me laugh out loud. Will definately be recommending to my friends :)
Worth a read. I don't often leave reviews and when I do it's usually because the book has blown me away but I felt the need to leave a review on this book. It was very clear when reading this book that it wasn't proof read for errors before being published. I'm no grammar nazi, my own grammar is far from perfect but there were an unbelievable amount of mistakes in this book. Random words placed in sentences that made no sense. It ruined what was otherwise a good story for me and put me off buying any other books by this author. I hope this feedback is helpful rather than taken in a negative light. Good story, just a pity about the random words messing up sentences.
It was a cute funny storyline. I enjoyed the book and the characters as well. I think for the most part many of us have some pasts lurking behind and have chosen our best way to ignore them all. Until one or many greet you and things just unfold........only hopefully not as bad. Fun, easy read and I recommend the book.
Not quite laugh out loud but enough to keep you reading
Characters exaggerated and predictable yet all ends happily. It’s hard to like Alex due to her lack of effort in pretty much anything but it’s an easy read with enough going on to make you keep at it.
Fabulous read... haven’t read such a funny book for a long time. I loved all of the characters and felt as if I knew them. The story rattled along at a great pace and I found it hard to put down. I’ll definitely be reading more by this author. A laugh out loud must-read.
