This 1968 57-minute, complete and previously unreleased archive recording of Bobby Seale, chairman [sic] of the Block Panthers at a New York rally was produced to raise awareness and spirits of the Panthers' recently arrested Minister of Information, Eldridge Cleaver.Originally made for William Burroughs, Up Against the Wall delivers the true voice of the Panthers, unrestrained by the need to moderate their message for white media acceptability.
The accompanying booklet contains eight pages of notes setting out the full original 'Rules of the Black Panther Party' and a chronological history of the Party's activities, the 'Review of Panther Growth and Harassment'.
