>I am an independent reviewer. This book is one of the books in the Brotherhood Protectors series and ends in an HEA. Derek and Maddie were high school sweethearts who meet again later in life when Maddie’s sister is kidnapped. At first I thought maybe Derek and Maddie just dated once or never dated and just had crushes on each other in high school. After all, Derek introduces himself to Maddie again after only 5 years. Later in the story, it is revealed that they had a physical relationship. Do people have so many partners they forget them?
>There is a whole sex trafficking plot that has the original Brotherhood Protectors coming in to help. Maddie uses her skills from her father in order to almost rescue her sister alone. The chemistry between Maddie and Derek is hot, but the second chance aspect of the story doesn’t ring true.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this story 3 stars. The book needs some serious continuity and editing help. The story is good, but needs some tweaking to help it flow better.

This was a good story from a new author. I enjoy a good second chance romance and this one was a second chance story, although there wasn't any huge conflict that broke Maddie and Derek up when they were younger.
I love the Brotherhood Protectors stories and this one fit in pretty well with that series. It was good to see some of my favorite characters take a role in Hot Colorado Nights. There was a nice amount of suspense and action; definitely enough took keep me interested in the book until I finished it.
A few things bothered me just a bit, but not really enough to detract from the story. I thought that Maddie and Derek got physical with each other pretty quickly, even for a novella length story.
It's not something I can really put my finger on, but some of the writing didn't flow as smoothly as I'd like. That being said, this is the first book by Paige Yancey, and with award winning author Elle James for a mother to help guide her, I think we'll see improvement as she gains more experience with her writing.

This debut story by Ms Yancey, will keep you on your toes from the first page to the last one.
The story belongs to Detective Derek Lewis and store owner Maddie Finley.
They had been HS sweethearts and meet again when Maddie’s home has been trashed and Janie, Maddie’s sister , has been abducted.
The plot is engaging and moves seamlessly, and the characters are complex and very likable.
I loved that Maddie is very self sufficient and a feminine “badass” thanks to her father, a former military man, who taught his daughters how to defend themselves.
The romance moves along swiftly, mainly because it’s more of a novella, but it’s still very realistic.
This book is a good addition to the Brotherhood Protector series. I look forward to more stories by this talented “freshman” author.

What can you say who doesn't love a story where the bad guys go down & good guys put suck away? A bonus when romance told it off!
Brotherhood protectors (BP) rocks once again. A special operations to take out the bad guys and a girl with harass movies what is not to love? Maddie trying to save her kissing sister kidnapped off campus Her worse fears she is taken by a sex trafficking ring. Detective Derrick is on the case & learns it's his high sweethearts sister, small world. Political in play he as NO to have his back. This is a great story of a hot subject woman (&children) being preyed upon and sold into sex trafficking. It horrific but even happens here stay vigilant & always help when one can. Violence 2, sex2

I just finished reading Hot Colorado Nights by Paige Yancey.
This is part of the Brotherhood Protectors series and although I liked the story line,I felt the booked needed more depth. There were scenes that didn't make sense to me. For example finding out your sister has been kidnapped and 5 minutes later having wild sex didn't a exactly show a deep emotion of fear for a loved one. I also felt that there were missing parts, example- having a concussion that is causing one to be in and out of it and yet they bounce back within the time frame of being checked out at the hospital.
I think the story line is good I just felt myself saying "Wait- What?!" During certain parts.

I received an ARC copy of this book and I chose to voluntarily to review it. I loved this book, it is well written and a great story. This is the first Paige Yancey book I have read but I look forward to seeing how she does in the future. Give this new author a chance. I encourage everyone to get this book it is worth your time and efforts. Her sister is missing and the only person she trusts to find her is herself but her high school love comes back into her life to help. Give this one a chance!!!

Will they be able to nearly the baddies????
Another great read. Maddie goes home to find her sister gone and teaming up with her childhood sweetheart finds that a few girls have gone missing from town and surrounding areas. As Derek gets sidelined in the investigation so the FBI can take over he feels that he still has a place in the whole thing and calls his buddy, Hank Patterson for help. With traffickers and bullets flying, will they be able to get to Her sister before it's to late??????? A great read with some great characters and as usual Hank Patterson.

Nice little read... some easily corrected errors, but they did detract from the story. For example, when Derek arrived at Maddie's she was cooking & the dog's food bowl was full but untouched... I assumed that this was to infer that the dog was missing Janie/Jeannie... but then later on Maddie realises that she hasn't fed the dog as the bowl was empty & proceeds to feed her. Now, I know that this is a silly niggly little thing... but it detracts & distracts from the read... I found myself looking for more errors rather than focussing on the story being told...

Despite not seeing each other for a number of years the chemistry between them is still there.
They work together to find Janie which makes for a good plot and a nicely written story.
An excellent start to this authors writing career.

An intense drama about kidnapping of women for sex trafficking. Maddie finds that her sister has disappeared and a couple of rooms in their home have been trashed. When the police respond to her 911 call, the local Detective for this case is Derek a former boyfriend from her early school days. When the local police are told that the FBI was taking over. Derek decided to call his own backup and support. Lots of action and many surprises

New to me - and the world - author. For a first book, it shows promise. The story was quite good. Especially for a second chance romance. I don't usually like those. But this one was good because it was high school sweethearts reconnecting. Boy did they! *fanning self* There was some awesome action. Loved how the Brotherhood Protectors got to back up Maddy. Not bad for a first time author. She needs some polish but I see great potential here.

I received an advanced copy of this story in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed this story a lot. I really liked the characters of Derek and Maddie. The action was good and kept the reader on edge until the end. I do think some parts of the story were rushed but didn't disrupt the flow. I'm looking forward to reading Paige Yancey's next story. She is an up and coming author to watch.

Hot Colorado: I loved the suspense of the story! I loved that her protector was her high school sweetheart. I love the Brotherhood Protectors and how well they work together. I loved that Maddie is a bad ass and she still need her back up. Paige Yancey did a wonderful job of writing this story. Fantastic book and addition.

Maddie and Derek have a past. He went to college and she finished high schoool. He quit college to go in the military and she went to college. Now they are both in the same town and didn't know it, until Maddie's sister went missing and he was the detective. Sorry, want to have sex to take her mind off what happened to her sister, really? This book was ok, but not the best I've read.

Reunited lovers!
This was a fast read. Good pacing, easy flow. Enjoyable characters. Derek and Maddie make a good team paired together to find her sister. Maddie can stand on her own, thanks to the training provided by her father growing up. But Derek has the Spec Ops connections. Overall, this was a good read. I look forward to reading more by Paige Yancey.

Good read
Maddie and Derek had been high school sweethearts, but had gone their separate ways ten years ago. Now they were both in their home town. Maggie has just come home and realized that something is wrong. So she calls 911 and Derek shows up. They immediately jump into each other's arms.

A second chance romance blended with drama and suspense. Derek and Maddie's story is well written and engaging. The addition of plenty of steam and action keeps your interest easily. A very enjoyable read. I'm posting a completely honest, voluntary review after reading this book.

This was a good read, just wish it was longer. The story is fast paced with plenty of drama and suspense. I liked both Derek and Maddie, they had great chemistry and their story had plenty of twists and turns. Overall a good read.

I love all the Brotherhood Protectors stories and have found some great new authors. For this being her first book, Paige did an excellent job. Derek and Maddie's story was wonderful and will definitely read more of her work.

Hot Colorado Nights
I loved this book! I loved the fact that Paige Yancy's first book is in her mother's Brotherhood Protector kindle world. I loved that the hero and heroine have a past and have reconnected and the heroine is strong. Can't wait to read more .

First read from this author
The story was awesome, suspenseful, sexy and definately happy ever after. There wasn't anything in there about another book or what will happen to 1 loose end. I want to read about Janey, the sister in the story.
