I read this book cover to cover several times. It was my lifeline when I was trying to quit smoking. I quit and failed, and re-read the book, then quit and failed, and re-read the book. Each time I was able to quit for longer, and each time the book gave me support and information for deconstructing another facet of my addiction. My own impatience probably caused me to skip a lot of steps, so I likely would have been able to quit sooner if I wasn't so hardheaded. But finally, I quit for good.

That was in 2001. I am still not smoking. I am not even craving it. The first few days were the worst, but this book and support from my husband really helped. After the first couple of weeks, it became much easier, and I did feel better and better, just as Jacquelyn Rogers said in the book. Now I can even be around others who smoke, and I still am not tempted to light up.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It was easy to understand, not terribly long, and full of practical advice that works. I am living proof: I've been an ex-smoker for 12 years now. My husband quit one year from my quit date, using the same method in this book, and he still does not smoke, either.

I succeeded in quitting. This book changed my life. Make sure you follow instructions diligently. This book needs to be worked on, but the results last a lifetime. Thank you Ms. Rogers.
