Award winning author Anne Kane lives in the beautiful Okanagan Valley with a bouncy little rescue mutt(Merlin the Wonder Dog), a slightly larger rescue dog (Lexi the Bouncy) a cantankerous Himalayan cat (Jeff), and too many fish to count. She has two handsome sons and seven adorable grandchildren. She's always been fascinated by science fiction and fantasy so of course when she writes, she lets her imagination take over. The one thing the reader can always count on is that the main characters will live happily ever after, even if they have to defeat a few nasty aliens first.

When she's not busy writing the next great novel, she likes to kayak, hike, ride motorcycles, swim, skate, practice karate, play her guitar, sing and of course, read.

Nikki, a selkie-otter, has always lived by her own rules, but when an unknown threat seems to swirl around her, her clairvoyant sister sends the Druid, Wolfe, to protect her. The two are made for each other, and Wolfe senses their link immediately, but Nikki is hesitant. Her otter side always feels the call to the sea and she worries that she's too restless to ever settle down with a family. The threat becomes reality and Nikki is kidnapped by a mad researcher who's obsessed with creating a master race of paranormal creatures. The story is passionate and fast-paced, and the secondary characters shine. A great adventure!

Because there are people who devalue everything else, Nikki is not sure about her life. She is a Silkie, a magical creature without being a threat to others.
Hunted by others, she is saved by Wolfe. He is a Druid and his job is to protect her. He does not seem to succeed so well when she is abducted. A doctor who tries to combine the genes of paranormal beings into an army of unbeatable beings.
The concept is well known, but I can certainly appreciate the twist that Anne Kane has given it. The love story between Nikki and Wolfe comes across well. Great to tell each other via telepathy what you have in mind when you are together again

This is the first book by this Author that I have read a well written story that kept me turning pages. This is Druid Wolfe and Otter shifter Nikki’s story there is suspense, drama, danger,containment, and romance. I enjoyed reading this story. As a free-spirited otter, Nikki fears settling down and raising a family even for Wolfe, the sexy druid sent to protect her from an unknown threat in this bewitching paranormal romance. The author has created an enchanting world with intriguing characters, interesting and different elements and her own artistic flare that provides a very entertaining world and invites the readers to come back for more. . I was completely caught up in this story although I kept feeling as though this shouldn’t have been the first book, maybe it was because Nikki’s sister and her mate, Jack, made me very curious about their story.

This is a fun read with Nikki being a mythical being-selkie. I love how Nikki's character and her fears in committing to Wolfe. The way she handled the situation was also nice. I also like Wolfe. How he cares for her and saved her.

The other characters were also very intriguing with Nikki's sister, Trina and Jack. I really want to know their story. Sasha and her alpha werewolf shifter's story might be interesting but the panther in the facility that didn't shift to a human was the most person I am curious about.
