Average at best....modern Western writers sure are not similar to L'Amour or Zane Grey, instead of just sticking to Western romanticism, they seem to HAVE to bring in modern controversies to their stories, seeming to have an agenda. I thought it was annoyingly amusing how often characters "roared" with their speech. This was an introduction short story to lead to further in the series. I may give the series another shot, but not in any particular hurry.

Fool’s Gold

A rather short read. I found this western to be somewhat predictable as to its outcome. One problem I had was the use of language by the author which made it hard to understand.

Nice relaxing read. Could have been more clear what type of "Lawmaker" August is. He travels across several state lines, so is he a Pinkerton?? & how does Miss Lawton know to write to him?
