‘RJ Bailey has created a serial hero to rival Jack Reacher himself’ TONY PARSONS

THE LATEST INSTALMENT IN THE THRILLING SAM WYLDE SERIES. For fans of hit NETFLIX show, CLOSE.

In a fierce game of cat and mouse, the rules are winner kills all.

Sam Wylde is hot on the heels of her ex-husband who has snatched her only daughter, Jess. An in-demand former bodyguard, Sam was once the best in the business, and now those skills are about to be tested. Because as she arrives in south east Asia, having tracked their movements to the seedy nightclub scene in Bali, Sam discovers that she too is being hunted.

When an enemy she thought long-dead appears, threatening to thwart her search for Jess, the stakes are raised and Sam must fight to stay one step ahead at all times. Can she save the only person who truly matters to her before it’s too late? Or will the vicious thug Sam thought she’d killed finally take his revenge – and her daughter along with it?

Winner Kills All is a breathless race against time, with plenty of twists and turns along the way. A gripping thriller perfect for fans of Simon Kernick and Mason Cross.

I didn’t have the best expectations once the front cover had promised me a female Jack Reacher. However, I was pleasantly surprised. What I got was a tough as nails female protagonist that also had emotions, made mistakes, and took no sh*t with a sense of humour. It was extremely enjoyable. Sam Wylde’s ex has taken her daughter but she has to get her back before an old enemy gets to Jess first. It’s a classic cat and mouse game with a variety of twists and turns. My only criticism is that it doesn’t end. I like a series of books where the story extends over numerous books which also allows each book to be read as a standalone. This doesn’t quite work as s standalone but it’s only a near miss.

Brilliant fast-paced action as ever, and now I cannot wait for the next instalment of the Sam Wylde story! I’ve found it really interesting to learn about a world I have no knowledge of whatsoever. Glad I’m not in it in real life but very much enjoying following Sam’s adventures 🙂

I enjoyed the book, but it didn’t quite pull me in the way I had hoped. While it was cleverly written with well crafted characters, parts of the story felt a bit slow, leaving me wanting just a little more to fully engage. It was a good read, but something was missing to make it truly unforgettable.

Awful.
Well written enough; not the self published dross that litters the ebook market, but edging towards it with the (very few) sex references. But the whole reason for trudging through the plot was postponed until the next book in the series! Certainly not a ‘Jack Reacher’ type character or book.
All in all an easy-pleaser thriller with little of substance. Disappointing.

A woman hunts for her missing daughter.

The basic story was good, the writing was reasonable and it was an entertaining read, but this book could have done with less plot strands.

Reading time around five hours.

Whilst I found the storyline held my attention and I finished this fairly quickly, it was a let down that a theme running through the book wasn't resolved, but it will no doubt be in the next book.
