Very cute series of books.

In this one we start by seeing our London dog friends are waving Sam and Shifty goodbye as they head to Paris for an adventure. They are going to create a gingerbread masterpiece for an Art Exhibit the Mayor is attending. However, Sam notices a poster for Cunningham Sly a Fox Art Thief. They see dog versions of famous art works (like Pug with a Pearl Earring) but they noticed a red curtain that is hiding a masterpiece. Sam a Fox in the kitchen with a painting wrapped up under his arm. The Fox claims to be an artist. At first Sam is excited that he meet a real artist but when he goes back in the gallery Shifty admits he peaked behind the red curtains and it shows that the wall is bare. It is then that they realize that the Fox is their art thief. They chase him through the streets of Paris (baked treats falling out of the back of their van) but when they get to the river Sly has a getaway dinghy. When it looks like our heroes are lost Shifty flips a switch in the van and turns it into a speedboat. They crash into Sly's dinghy causing him and the painting to go overboard. Sly says he can't swim, but Sam and Shifty save both Sly and the painting from the water. (Although Sly complains that they have ruined his best robbing waistcoat.) When they get back to the gallery the police dogs are ready to take him away but when Sam and Shifty unwrap the painting in front of the Mayor they find it has been damaged by the water. However the Mayor reveals that he thought that Sly would strike and so that painting was a fake and he reveals the real one (Bone-a-Lisa) The party then starts. Shifty and Sam bring in a Gingerbread Eiffel Tower. All of Paris is talking about our hero crime fighters and great bakers.
