U.S. Marshal Shorty Thompson #59

Yer in the Wrong Town Mister

Rate this book
Shorty was wounded and had lost more than a dab of blood. He was slouched over in his saddle as he rode into Holbrook, Arizona. In front of him tied to their saddles were the Collins brothers. He slid from the saddle in front of the sheriff’s office. Tying Dunnie he told Jody and Jim to get down. ‘Can’t, we’re tied to the saddle horn.”
Shorty didn’t untie the ropes, just cut them with his knife. They dismounted and walked inside. A deputy jumped to his feet. “What’er you doing’ with Jody an’ Jim?”
“Where’s the sheriff?”
“Gone over to Page.”
“I’m lockin’ these fellers up for a spell.”
“Yer in the wrong town Master. This is Frank Collins’ town an’ them are his sons.”
“Are you gonna help er get in the way?”
“Only help I’ll give is get you the doctor, if you don’t pass out first.” Out the door he ran as Shorty locked the boys up and sat down behind the desk.

It never ceases to amaze me how Shorty Thompson's exciting escapades continuously gets better in each new adventure. I have been hooked on this series from the very first novel, and I have read everyone of them. Mr. Thompson is one of the most prolific, and innovative, author I have ever had the opportunity to follow. There is enough exciting episodes throughout this entire series to satisfy the whim of every reader of the old western adventures. I have enjoyed this ride along series and as of this most recent one, I find them all worthy of being re-read several times over.

As always, another story by Mr. Thompson that is worth of more than five stars, but the limit is what it is. I cannot fathom how Mr. Paul Thompson consistently writes such interesting, and rather exciting, western adventures without repeating himself. These stories definitely impresses me with their never ending consistency of what I perceive as real old western folklore.

The author is definitely consistent with his extraordinary storylines and character selection throughs entire series of the Shorty Thompson escapades. The never ending consistency between each and every detailed episode is definitely worthy of following.

I can truthfully w, I have been hooked from the opening paragraph if the very first novel, and I definitely recommend this book, and entire series, to everyone, whether you are a western adventure reader, or not. I believe, once you read a book, or two, of this outstanding series masterpiece, you will also be hooked by the author's magic to open the real door to our true old western folklore!😂

MONEY ISN'T EVERYTHING

A parent or parents are suppose to raise their children with morals and ethics. Live your life's as you would your children to do. The Collins Boys, Jim and Jody have all ways had everything they wanted, not needed. Their father Frank a wealth rancher who used his wealth to push people around. He bribed the sheriff to look the other way when his sons came to town and acted the fool. Now things have changed and his sons are wanted for murder and cattle rustling. Marshal Shorty is on their trail, the father breaks them out of jail and kidnapped the judge, two young girls to swap them for his sons...a really big mess.
Now the sons and father take a trip thru the wilderness...time to clear their minds, and do the things father and sons do..like camping and enjoying nature.
This is a good assignment but lots of worry, mean people. Selfish people who think only of themselves...very sad. Marshal Shorty does what he always does, get the bad guys bring them to justice. Also try and keep himself alive, since a lot of bad guys have families and friends who want revenge, Shorty got to be on point wherever he goes...a good western fast reading...enjoy everyone..Love this series...yeah

A Shorty Thompson Western (59)

PLT has penned the 59th Shorty Thompson Western About A rancher who has two son who turn bad. They were spoiled by their father and the father realized how wrong he had been raising them when they stole 500 cattle and the killed a Sheriff. They went on the lam when ST showed up. ST chased them for two months across the southwest. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

the title caught my fancy. I enjoyed the read. Again a unique plot with a great ending. I like how Paul puts some real life feelings into his writing. A very tough decision of a father concerning his sons. A decision that changes a wealthy rancher's life along with a town. Good stuff.
