Because everyone doesn’t always get it right, you sometimes need a do-over. These women included. Rocky moved to another state to run from the hold Bucks had on her still she felt him near. Rocky has vowed to let Bucks go but one phone call from home stating he’s been shot has her running right back to Detroit. This time around Bucks is playing for keeps. He’s tired of the games with Rocky and letting her know that she will either be in his life or forget he exists. Rocky finds it hard to decide what to do especially since she’s dating someone new. India went against the grain for Brody. He was her everything. Like breath to her body, he gave her life. So much so that when trouble came calling for him she took the fall. A decision that she would forever regret. Years seem to skate by while they went through the motions. Brody isn’t perfect, he sometimes forgets his way home but makes it impossible for India to forget about him. India decides to do something for herself and that results in her bringing Tarik into her life. He’s arrogant, young and so attractive to India that it frightens her. India will soon find herself torn between the only man she’s ever loved and a new man that wants her heart and the person attached to it. Bahja has gone through the storm. She lost her husband, became homeless and finally found her peace. After relocating to Detroit, she finds friendship with Micah whose known on the streets as Pretty Boy. The only problem is his ex-Rian. She isn’t ready to let go and is determined to get Micah back. Bahja decides to stop seeing Micah after a bad run-in with Rian and she finds herself dating Jigga. Jigga is chill. His only mission is to live a carefree low-key life. He loves everything about Bahja but the last thing he wants to do is step on Micah’s toes. When the two men both find themselves falling in love with the same woman its Bahja who must decide who she wants and who she’s willing to let go. This is an Anthology with three different complete stories.
This was really good. I wanted more from all 3 stories. Especially Bahja’s and Rocky’s since I had already known of the two from previous stories. I got to catch up with Salem and Huss who’s story was very emotional but good. India’s story aggravated me a bit I’m not gonna lie AND I knew the cousin baby daddy was Brody pretty much since they told us she was pregnant. Two things I just couldn’t understand why didn’t she just leave AND wtf was so hard about telling Palmer she was pregnant and had done had the baby?? It was weird, everyone knew but her best friend?? Still was a great read/teaser and I definitely wanted more!!!!!!
This was definitely a different concept. I definitely enjoyed these three stories. Those women were working my nerves with their indecisiveness. I'm glad they all ended up with their perfect match and got their HEA.
First let me start by saying all three stories were good af. Seconding omg I did not expect Bahjas story to turn out that way, but her happiness was well deserved. She gave pretty boy plenty of chances and he just could not get it right. I’m so happy Jigga showed her how she’s supposed to be treated. INDIA oh India I felt so bad for my girl simply because Brody was so undeserving of her heart he continuously took her through it. In the beginning I knew something wasn’t right about Shia, Brody, and those twins... turns out I was absolutely right. Brody was super selfish thank God Tarik showed up and showed out. He wanted India to finish school and become a better her instead of telling her to wait like stupid Brody (HE’S A REAL ONE). ROCKY now I thought she was going to make me mad but she turned out to be so mature and understanding of Bucks situation with Denim I admired that. Of course she felt some type of way after the baby was born, but who wouldn’t ? Bucks got his Rocky back and that’s all that matters. I am interested in Bibby&Denim now is that the next story 👀😩😍 Great read I loved all three stories!!!!!
These were something and they were ok, not great but ok!
These three stories were really something. Not great but ok, and yet I couldn't go any higher than this rating... The story of Bajah and Micah and Jigga was fine. It was the first one and it was kind of touching regarding the way Bajah's family had treated her and her sons. Jigga was patient and accepted her as is while Micah was really something else and very shady with his ways. That story was interesting and cute yet short but 2 stars was perfect for it. The story of India / Tarick / Brody was what made me dislike this anthropology. I couldn't stand India for nothing. She was pathetic, annoying, selfish, childish, and an overall ugly person. I truly was wishing and hoping that either Brody does what he was promising or that Tarik moves on and leaves her by herself, handicapped, lonely and all.... She truly didn't deserved any happiness and compassion. Was very happy to read what Sia did to her and i only hoped she had learned it earlier in the story. This was a 1 star for me. Finally Rocky and Bucks, well was ok. I mean it served Rocky right that she witness Buck somewhat moved up and got Barille but his love for her never stopped so after she realized her mistakes they were able to come through but not until she really and truly felt the pain. This was the best part because what or how she handled their situation was bad. I didn't really appreciate Buck get Braille but I guess karma is something since it was Rocky that left and ran. In any case this was a 2 star for me. This is my first time reading a book written like that, and it was weird since none of the stories were internally connected but were connected to book previously written by the author and if you haven't read those series, you should do so before reading this because they are connected somehow or it's a continuation of the sides friends supporters stories such as, Bajah is with Nevahae, India is with Palmer and Rocky was with the Matin clan like Pia, Sophie, and Drew, so you definitely must know them or read about them. Oh well, I am going to see if I could get something new besides these characters.
Each of the stories are emotional. They all brought back memories from the original. The story that really stuck out to me was India and Brody. Longevity doesn't always equate to love. Their story really shows the angles between good love and bad love. There were so many times that India decisions had me fired up. Brody was selfish with his love, it was his way or practically no way. At some point I thought he would make good on his promise.
In Bahja stories, she wasn't mad at love. Just certain circumstances pushed away from what she thought was love. To me Pretty Boy pretty much planted himself in her life to quick. Bahja needed to freelance the water a little more. Find out what she really like. I'm glad she what she really needed after everything she'd been through.
All the ladies battle something, Rocky still battled who makes her heart beat. While still trying to find herself. She's met with an obstacle she wasn't ready for while trying to focus. After issuing an ultimatum things seemed to really move full speed ahead. What really sealed the deal is Bucks childish stunt🤣🤣🤣🤣.
I love how all the characters in Dominique’s stories have some sort of connection. It makes reading her books feel like you know the characters in real life. I was really glad to get an update on Rocky and Bucks. I felt like they weren’t done and I’m glad to see they weren’t. Bahja’s story really got to me. She went through so much and for Micah to be like he was towards the end was sad. And don’t get me started on Rian. She needed some serious professional help. Tarik and India were an unexpected love. It was good to see her value herself and remember that she was top priority. She gave up so much messing around with Brody’s trifling behind. And Shia...no words for her.
So happy she wrote a book to recap some of my favorite characters. Im really surprised Bahja and Pretty Boy didnt work out, i just knew from the last book they would figure it out and get it together. Rocky and Buck are made for eachother so I love to see she finally came back. Lord that darn India made we want to knock her out lol. How many chances do you have to give a person before you realize they arent worth it. I love how all the women in this book had to endure their own struggles and look deep within to realize their worth. Great job!! We need more..
Let me start off by saying I was only here for Rocky and bucks but I got drawn in by Baja, India, and Denim too. I love how clearly Dominique showed that women have to know the difference between love and loyalty because often times the two are confused. I also loved how she showed the maturity in each woman. If only real life relationships worked this way. This book takes you through a ringer of emotions but I swear it was worth it. So worth the read!
I really enjoyed reading each lady’s story. I was really rotting for Bahja and Pretty Boy, but he messed that up and in the end she found the man for her. What to say about India... Well she was naive and it bothered me but I'm happy she grew up and finally got with a good man. Rocky finally stopped running!!! Yes... I was so happy her and Bucks got it together. I'm also happy for Denim and Bibby... I hope there's a full book coming about them two. Awesome job Dominique your work speaks volumes and I always look forward to your next release. 🔥🔥
Omg I loved this so much! I can’t really speak on it without giving away the stories but it was really nice to see how their love stories played out. At times I wanted to reach through the screen/pages and slap a couple of them and shake some sense into the others. Every thing flowed so smoothly into what I’d previously read in prior books that it made it easy to love. Really good job!
These were some great stories. Bahja and Jigga were great together, while that dog, Micah got just what he deserved. India was stupid for taking Brody’s drug charge, while all along he was cheating on her. Brody was so wrong for being with Shia’s scandalous behind. I’m so glad that Tarik showed India what true love really is. And what can I say? That Matin Family is the truth.
Girllllll, Im speechless... U never disappoint. . the wait was well worth it the book is the BOMB I couldn't stop reading it until I finished the whole book.. I loved Bahja story and fell in love with Jiggy.. India I was able to relate to her story in so many ways so glad she found happiness... Rocky glad she followed her ❤.. Love it....
3 books in one. Most of time, I don't care for short stories because they feel incomplete but every story was amazing and felt like a whole book. Each story had it's own message. I really hope you wrote another one and probably update on Rocky. I love each story. India, Rocky, and B are strong and relatable female characters.
Dominique Thomas has once again penned not just one but 3 beautiful love stories all at once! She has a way of bringing the characters to life and if you're not careful you'll think they are actually real! Be in the D asking where to find the Matins and there peeps at!😂😂😂 But for real her pen game just that bomb and I'm a fan for life!
You have did it again Dominque. You asked every question that was needed from your other books. My favorite was with Brody and India story was the best. We been wondering what happen with India and was not disappointed. Then my man Buck 😍and Rocky story. Jigga story well written. Well written. Great job! Are you doing a story on Denim and Bibby?
It was so nice to catch up with all the women that played a huge role in some of my favorite books I’m so happy that India got away from Brody he was toxic and rocksana so happy she stopped running away from her happily ever after can’t forget about bahja she had been through so much happy she found her forever great read I loved it
India was so strong 💪 in Palmer & Arquez book .but in this book she seem so weak . Brody was a straight up man whore.sleeping with her cousin & making babies. I didn't like the fact that her brothers knew about his betrayal but didn't say anything.Shia was a straight up bih India whipped that ass though.
Dominique Thomas be doing the damn thing. Each book is penned with so much emotion. You fall in love with these characters all over again. I'm so glad that she be giving her female characters strong sense of self worth and they're not all on that ghetto mess. Great job
The content was not for the faint of heart and in some moments truly triggering. It’s an emotional read especially if you are a true fan who has fell for this cast of characters as I have. They feel like family that I have to visit. Dominique Thomas please keep sharing your creations.
Dominique I truly love these short stories all rolled up in one. I’m so happy for each women and man cause Rocky was playing with Buck. I wish it was way more of all of the stories
Reading anything that Dominique wrote makes me feel like there is real love out there waiting for me....I just have to get my mind right and I’m ready for it....she makes me feel like REAL love is out there 😍
This was awesome! Neither story felt like a short story. I was 3totally complete well written books all wrapped into 1. I have 2 new book bae's but I just can't figure out which one I'm crushin' on the most. Great job Dominique girl you did that!!
All 3 stories where great.. of course I wish they could have been longer, lol.. but I always feel that way about ur books Dominique. Kudos to yet another great read(s). I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next.
Normally I don't read shorts but because I was familiar with these characters they were really good. I think my face was Bucks and Rocky. I hope there is a later story with Denim and Bibby.
This was a great anthology. I absolutely enjoyed each one. I felt connected to the characters on so many levels. Can’t wait to read more on these stories. Great job Dominique Thomas
This was good read because it brought up past characters that we all love . The thing that annoyed me was I wasn’t satisfied after every read wanted more. I would love to read more about bibby and denim .
This book was so good. India really went through a lot with Brody. He really did India wrong. I can't stand him. I am so happy that Tarik came in the picture. She finally have someone that really loves and cares about her and her well-being.
