The story of Marni's Paper Friend was inspired by my own struggle with social anxiety as a child. Marni sits by her window or under her favorite tree and watches other kids play, but she is too shy to join in. One day she decides to draw her own best friend, which leads her on an unexpected adventure. I hope that the story will be an inspiration to the children (and adults) who read it.
